Thanks to the Adriatic Highway, renovated and partly reconstructed in 1997, Pirovac is well connected with Sibenik (22 km), the oldest autochthonous Croatian seaside town, a treasury of Croatian cultural heritage and Zadar (48 km), an ancient town with numerous cultural and historical monuments and for many years the centre of Dalmatian Parliament.
Pirovac is an ideal starting point for unrepeatable excursions to National Park “Kornati” (10 nautical miles) and National Park “Krka” (30 km), two jewels of the Sibenik tourist region.
The construction of a new, 45 kilometres long section of highway Zagreb-Split attracted the attention of all the national media to Pirovac.
Note: With the opening for traffic of the Mala Kapela tunnel and the final section from Vrpolje to Pirovac which is 33 Kilometres in length, the Zagreb – Split highway was officially opened on Sunday the 26th of June.
